Adam Scott has seemingly changed his mind about playing in the 2016 Olympics, according to former British Open Champion Ian Baker-Finch, who will captain the Australian team in Rio later this year.
Adam Scott raised the trophy last night at the Honda Classic, pipping Sergio Garcia by one shot for his first title in two years. While he only managed a level par 70, Sergio could only muster a 71, and no one made a run at the the two of them.
It's without doubt been a disappointing season for Adam Scott, who needs a late win to secure his record of a tour win every season, which is what he has done for the last 14 consecutive years. In front of what will undoubtedly be a highly partisan Ozzie crowd, Scott is properly pumped up for the occasion.
Adam Scott confirmed today that he is by no means certain to play at the Olympics in Rio next year, even if he does qualify. He’s also been highly critical of the organisers for not including a team event, something we’ve been crying out for as well.
"He's the number one player in the world, and he's showing why." That was Adam Scott taking about Justin Rose immedately after finishing second to the Englishman by two shots at Torrey Pines in the FarmersInsurance Open.
