More rain. It rained all night, and most of the day to put a dampener on moving day scoring. The day went to Jordan Spieth, who had to make four serious par saves to keep in contention. He then nailed a twenty-footer on the 18th for a birdie to overtake Henrik Stenson for the outright lead.

TItleist are on a roll this year. The Pro V1 is on fire. The 915 Woods have been a massive success. And Titleist irons win a tour event seemingly every other week. The one area people don’t to think of Titleist though is forgiving mid handicap irons. Yet with the AP1, they’ve got a set of irons that combines offers shed loads of help, without looking like a chopper big bat.

Thongchai Jaidee stormed through the field with a seven under 64 to take the lead at the Porsche European Open. We hand’t mentioned the 45 year old Thai player once in our roundups before today, as he zoomed 14 places up and through a crowded leaderboard at Golf Resort Bad Griesbach.

No one has been going really low today. The rain has made the rough that much more penal, and focused everyone’s attention on hitting fairways. There’s zero reward in being off-line, and that’s kept it conservative out there today. It’s frankly been a very quiet day indeed. Zzzzzzz.

Titleist are known as the serious brand for serious golfers. And golfers don't get any more serious than if they are using a set of muscle back blades. In an ideal world I'd be good enough to play the Titleist 716 MB. Seriously just look at it. It's stunning. But reality hits for most of us, as soon as we miss the tiny sweetspot.

Titleist have switched things up with the launch of the 816 H1 and H2 hybrids. Realising that hybrids need to be gapped distance wise with a set of irons, they've switched the release schedule to come out the same time as the irons rather than with the driver and irons.

So we’ve hit the M1 driver, raved about the fairway wood, and now we get to the hybrid. TaylorMade invented the Rescue/Hybrid category but the last few years have seen Callaway, Ping, and Titleist hybrids become much more popular, while TaylorMade’s sister company Adams has dominated in tour use.

While Nicky C didn’t manage to keep the lead going into round two of the italian Open, Scandanavians Jens Fahrbring and Lucas Bjerregaard zoom to the front at Monza. Fahbring shot a 64 with nine birdies, while his playing partner Bjerregaard put a 65 together, with five birdies and an opening eagle at the first.
