It is Walker Cup time again, as the United States take on GB&I at the Los Angeles Country Club. Here are our favourite Top 8 Walker Cup players who went on to tour success, and one who did not.

Team USA fought back on Sunday, clinching 3 points in the morning foursomes to close the gap to one point, but Europe turned the momentum around in the afternoon to lead 9-7 heading into the final day. Rookie Leona Maguire, the first Irish player to represent Europe in the Solheim Cup, is having a phenomenal competition claiming 3.5 out of 4 available points.

Matt Fitzpatrick’s little brother, Alex, led the way for team Great Britain and Ireland at Royal Liverpool yesterday. Following a foursomes win in the morning, with partner Conor Purcell, Fitzpatrick took out world number one amateur Cole Hammer (great name!) in the top afternoon singles game to help The GB&I team to a 7-5 lead after day one.
