Emily Kristine Pedersen and Celine Herbin tied at -11 after both shooting 70s in their final rounds to finish on 269. Herbin then won the play off to secure her first LET victory and send the home fans into raptures.
Thongchai Jaidee stormed through the field with a seven under 64 to take the lead at the Porsche European Open. We hand’t mentioned the 45 year old Thai player once in our roundups before today, as he zoomed 14 places up and through a crowded leaderboard at Golf Resort Bad Griesbach.
Gladys Nocera fires opening round 65, Charley Hull shots 68, Amy Boulden 69 and Carly Booth a +1 71. Projected cut for round 2 is +2. Not good news for Solheim hero Cristie Kerr who carded a +4 74 and has work to do to make the weekend.
We’ll start our round up of today’s play at the BMW at Conway Farms GG, Illinois with a look at the top of the table. But we think there is a lot of drama that’s lurking further down the leader board.
OK, we did get a bit carried away on Twitter posting Al Geiberger's 59 at Colonial in 1977, but Jason Day was so blazing it up today that we got more than slightly over excited. We have now calmed down a bit, but not by much.
There were a number of great rounds out there today. Henrik Stenson was lurking ominously with an opening two rounds of 67 and 68, and today he moved up another gear, shooting a 65. And as for Rickie? Well, read on.
Today was as much about who was hot as who was not. Jordan fell into the latter category, so he’ll be resting again on Sunday and Monday’s Labor Day finish. And as for Rory? Well, read on.
Big bombing Thomas Pieters became only the third Belgian to win on the European Tour, taking the D+D REAL Czech Masters. Despite a double bogey on the front nine Pieters romped to a three shot victory over Pelle Edberg at the Albatross Golf Resort in Prague.
So we've switched the golf on, and this is the first thing we see. Brian Harman take a bow son. With odds of 67 million to one, the left hander just nailed this hybrid on the 14th hole at The Barclays for his second hole in one of the round.
There was a bizarre incident at today’s moving day at the Czech Masters. Belgium Thomas Pieters shot a 7 under 65 to take a one-stroke lead over Sweden’s Pelle Edberg going into the final day. And he managed his 65 with a two shot penalty for hitting the wrong ball!
What a moving day. It all kicked off, and eight players are within 4 shots off the lead. This one is wide open.
