Ashleigh Buhai defeated In Gee Chun at the fourth extra hole of a sudden-death play-off to win her first major title in dramatic style in the AIG Women’s Open at Muirfield. The 33-year-old let slip a five-shot overnight lead with a closing four-over 75 – largely due to a triple bogey at the 15th – to finish level with Chun on a ten-under-par total of 274.
Annabel Dimmock started her title defence in fine style shooting a 67 on the opening day of the Jabra Ladies Open at Evian Resort Golf Club. The defending champion, who has her dad on the bag this week, sits at the top of the leaderboard with a one-shot lead over Germany’s Olivia Cowan.
Three-time LET winner Nuria Iturrioz continued her fine form at the Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open De Espana, posting a two-under-par second round of 70 to lead by two shots at eight-under-par from Scotland’s Kelsey Macdonald as darkness stopped play at 6.00 pm.
Despite dropping three shots in her last three holes, Gabriella Cowley held on to win the fifth Rose Ladies Series event at the JCB Golf and Country Club. She carded an excellent two-under-par round of 70 to win by one shot from a group on one-under that included Charley Hull and Georgia Hall.
