This is a world-first for elite amateur golf and has the backing of the R&A and England Golf. Shinkwin claims maiden title in Cyprus

Callum Shinkwin defeated Kalle Samooja in a play-off to win his first European Tour title after a dramatic final day at the 2020 Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Open. The Englishman was two shots behind the Finn as he stood on the17th tee in regulation and while a birdie there edged him closer, his chances of victory looked slim when he found rough off the tee at the par five last.

Tiger Woods stood on the 12th tee in his final round on Sunday at three-under-par. He was out of contention but still had birdie opportunities coming come and a chance to grab a top ten finish. What happened next will go down in history as one of the biggest surprises in golf let alone at the Masters. Shot 6 – Tiger skulls the bunker shot over the green and back into the water.

BMW PGA Championship Day 3

It was as you were at Wentworth as both overnight leaders shot four-under-par rounds of 68 to extend their lead to three shot over the field. Chasing them are Englishman Justin Rose, South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who both carded 69, and India’s Shubhankar Sharma who had one of the round of the day, a six-under 66.

Homa holds off Bradley for Wells Fargo win

American Max Homa won a final round duel with countryman Keegan Bradley to win the Wells Fargo Championship in Maryland by two shots. Homa started the final round two behind the former US PGA champion but errors from both players and, in particular, Bradley produced a scrappy battle down the stretch.

Solheim Cup Day 2

It was a brutal day at Gleneagles with high winds, rain and low temperatures testing the mettle of both teams. Team USA came out narrowly on top taking the afternoon fourballs by 2½ matches to 1½ after the morning foursomes had been shared.  So, it is all tied at 8-8 ahead of the twelve singles today and the Americans, given their past record in singles, must be viewed as the favourites.
