Is it just us or can you not get excited about the Walker Cup? The amateur version of the Ryder Cup takes place this weekend over the famous Royal Liverpool Golf Club links at Hoylake. The two teams of 10 players will compete over the two days of foursomes and singles matches first to 13½ points winning.

Koepka’s course record, bogey free, seven under 63 was as unexpected as it was impressive. This is Bethpage Black after all where par is considered a good score.

More than a few interesting combinations at this years Open Championship with Sandy Lyle leading us off playing alongside Germany’s Martin Kaymer and England’s Andy Sullivan.
Justin Thomas has beaten Si Woo Kim in an emphatic 6&5 victory to secure his quarterfinal place, and now faces Kyle Stanley in his quarter final. At the time of writing, he is three up through 12, and another step closer to taking the World No 1 position from Dustin Johnson, who crashed out in the first round.
A British golfing invention secured a major publicity coup at the 146th Open Championship, and will now also make regular appearances on the new Sky Sports Golf TV channel.
