The Sanderson Farms Championship from the Country Club of Jackson delivered another first-time winner when Sebastian Munoz saw off 2019 Rookie of the Year, Sungjae Im, on the first hole of a playoff. Defending champion Bernd Wiesberger took control of the Made in HimmerLand presented by FREJA as the Austrian raced into a two-shot halfway lead. The 35-year-old, winner of the 2019 contest, followed an opening-round 66 with seven birdies on day two in Denmark to sign for 65 at the Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort and move to eleven-under, two ahead of fellow countryman Matthias Schwab.

Home-favourite Kim Metraux and Finland’s Sanna Nuutinen take a two-shot lead from the chasing pack at the close of day one at the 2020 VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open with sublime opening scores of 66 (-6). A trio of gains from the 13th took her to five-under-par before a 10ft putt on the 17th took her to six. The birdies are important but sometimes it is the pars that matter most.
