Talented English junior golfers, Corey Neville and Ellen Hume, have won the first events of the 2020 Faldo Series Europe calendar, securing their places at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club for the Europe Grand Final in November. The big-hitting man from California won by three shots from overnight leader Matthew Wolf. “I've shown people that there's another way to do it."

Sadly there were no spectators at Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club in the New Forest to witness the exciting climax to the first Rose Ladies Series event.

Prince’s Golf Club in Sandwich Bay, Kent has celebrated the completion of a major renovation project at the 27-hole property with the opening of Smugglers’ Landing, a completely new par-3. The three-year project undertaken by internationally acclaimed golf course architects, Mackenzie and Ebert, began with the now lauded ‘reimagination’ of the Himalayas nine, completed in Spring 2018.

In this period of lockdowns, we know that 2020 Ryder Cup Captain Padraig Harrington will be fine. A couple of years back he invited GolfPunk to go All Back To His with him where he treated us to a trick shot spectacular, showed us his man cave, took us on at pool & table tennis and let us hoist the Wanamaker Trophy and Claret Jugs!!!!

We have had a great response to our survey of club members, but the results so far do not paint many golf clubs in a great light. Over half of the respondents told us that their club had not offered any form of reduction or deferral during the COVID-19 crisis.

Offering 1,000 tickets at £10 each for a variety of prizes remarkably he sold out in just four hours. He is now running another draw with some impressive prizes.

As the various tours are losing millions each week in TV and sponsorship income and the Coronavirus trundles on the R&A continues to put out woolly statements about continuing to look at the options. Given the likely time frames for the lifting of social distancing and the issues over international travel, the R&A must postpone.

The LPGA has announced the movement of the Evian Championship to 6th to 9th August, the week before the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open. At the same time, the signs are that both the R&A and USGA will announce the postponement of the Open and US Open in the coming week.
