LIV Golf today announced that two-time major winner Jon Rahm, the reigning Masters champion, has joined LIV Golf. Rahm will compete in the LIV Golf League beginning next season, which kicks off February 2-4, 2024, at LIV Golf Mayakoba in Mexico.
It has been reported that LIV Golf will allow player trades via a transfer window and trade deadline in 2024. Per Sports Illustrated, the initial plan had been to introduce transfers for its 12 four-player teams from the outset but the idea took a back. According to the report, that is set to change next year, with the introduction of player trading similar to US sports such as NFL and MLB.
The PIF Saudi International powered by Softbank Investment Advisers, will return on 2-5 February with one of its strongest fields to date. Eleven major champions will take on Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, including the American quintet of Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Bubba Watson, and Phil Mickelson, with a combined 15 major titles between them.
