Fifteen years ago, as a 17-year-old amateur, Mina Harigae made her debut in the U.S. Women’s Open Presented by ProMedica at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club. On Saturday at The Chevron Championship, it was Jennifer Kupcho who set the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills ablaze. Nine birdies and one bogey later, Kupcho fired an eight-under 64 to set the low round of the week, as well as a new personal best, and sit at the top of the championship leaderboard at sixteen-under overall.

We’ve all been there in that bunker slashing away trying to get that damn ball up and out as you see your chances in the competition dissolve in front of your eyes. At the Genesis Invitational on Saturday Ryan Palmer had a similar horrific moment which made us amateurs feel not so bad. Tiger Woods also had his nightmare on the greens which included a four-putt!

There were lots of hugs and high fives as Team USA fought back from a 10-8 deficit to win the Presidents Cup, once again, by a score of 16-14. That huge smile we saw after Wood’s victory at Augusta was back and the there was obvious emotion in the US Captain’s voice when talking after his team’s victory.
