Irish eyes were smiling on a thrilling final day of action at the Bridgestone International, and after several twists and turns a surprising winner came out on top. With over night leaders Jim Furyk and Justin Rose struggling to final round 72’s, it was left to Ireland's Shane Lowry to pick up the victory, with a final round of 66 at Firestone Country Club South.

It all started so well for Bryson. A huge three wood down the 10th hole and a short iron set up a short birdie putt. However, the slippery five footer failed to find the cup and suddenly it was all change. DeChambeau would only hit half of the remaining fairways but somehow he would find a way to shoot a two-under round of 70.

The golfing world has lost one of it’s greatest ever characters. Brian Barnes sadly passed away at the age of 74 on Monday after a brief fight with cancer. A larger than life character Barnes will always be remembered as the man who beat Jack Nicklaus twice in one day at Laurel Canyon in 1975 Ryder Cup. The Ryder Cup featured two singles sessions in those days.
