According to a report on the BBC local news site, a 105-year-old golf course in Leicester has closed as the city council looks to save £90m by 2018. The closure of Western Park municipal golf club will apparently save the authority a paltry £123,000 a year.

36 year-old South African Jaco Van Zyl was the man on fire today at the Turkish Airlines Open in Belek. He shot a sensational eleven under 61 on the par 72 course. He did not drop a single shot, had four birdies on the front nine, and a further four on the back nine as well as an eagle on the par five 11th.
