Tommy Fleetwood has moved into the final automatic qualification spot on the World Points List following his tied tenth finish at The 151st Open Championship, won by America’s Brian Harman. The Georgia native, who notched his first win since 2017 at The Open, now has three Tour titles — including a major — under his belt. And soon, he’ll likely add a Ryder Cup to his career resume.
The Open Championship is the final major of the season with the 151st playing of The Open and the 13th at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, the first since 2014. 42 players in the field competed at the 2014 Open Championship, including winner Rory McIlroy and four others that finished in the top 10: Rickie Fowler, Adam Scott, Charl Schwartzel and Shane Lowry.
The next edition of the is 18 months away, but both Europe and the United States have already named their captains for golf’s most fiercely fought tournament.
