For the first time in U.S. Women’s Open history, the championship will be played on two courses. To account for reduced daylight given the move to December, the Jackrabbit Course at Champions Golf Club will be used in conjunction with the Cypress Creek Course.

There is not much to say really, Sei Young Kim never looked in trouble as she strolled to victory at Aronimink to take her first major title. Inbee Park had a run at Kim but the 27-year-old was unflappable and never looked in trouble. "This golf course is really challenging," said Kim after grabbing her first major title. It was a very happy 33rd birthday for Mel Reid. The English player celebrated her special day in style, tying her career-low round of 7-under 65 on Saturday and jumping to the top of the leaderboard at the Cambia Portland Classic. With six birdies and two bogeys in Saturday’s 68, Green is in prime position for a repeat victory in Portland.

Defending Cambia Portland Classic winner Hannah Green continued her strong play at Columbia Edgewater Country Club, shooting a 6-under 66 on Friday to join Cydney Clanton atop the leaderboard after the first round. Five players are tied for third on five-under, including 2020 Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions winner Gaby Lopez and England’s Mel Reid.

Coming down the stretch, it was a two-horse race. It was a straight battle between Nelly Korda and Brooke Henderson as to who would take the second women’s major of the year. However, lady luck had different ideas and she was shining down on South Korea’s Mirim Lee. Many of the top Koreans have stayed away due to fears over Coronavirus but Lee decided to take part.

She is only 20, has never played a major championship or even played outside Japan until this week and now Hinako Shibuno finds herself leading the Women’s British Open at Woburn. She takes a two-shot lead into the Sunday but there is plenty of talent queuing up behind her should she slip up on the final day.

It was all getting quite crowded at the top of the leaderboard on day two at the AIG Women’s British Open at Woburn on Friday until the overnight leader, Ashleigh Buhai, who was out late in the day, suddenly put her foot on the accelerator to open up daylight between her and the field.

Less than 24 hours after the Evian Championship was wrapped up by Jin Young Ko, 49 of the top 50 women in the world hightailed it to Milton Keynes to somehow prepare themselves for the very different test that Woburn Golf Club’s Marquess Course will offer. Or at least most of them would have been preparing had Lexi Thompson not left her passport in her bag!
