Ten years ago, Guan Tianlang of China became the youngest player to compete in the Masters at just 14 years old. Sadly, the fairy tale was spoiled when the young man was singled out for a slow play penalty that jeopardised his chances of making the cut. The incident divided opinion but the positive takeaway was that something was finally being done about slow play.
Following the understandable cancellation of the Open, the proposed new dates for the remaining three majors are known. The PGA Championship will take place between the 6th and 9th of August at TPC Harding Park, the U.S. Open remains at Winged Foot and has been moved back to the 18th to 21st September and the Masters, usually the first major of the year will now come last between 12th and 15th of November.

Not since the heydays of one Tiger Woods have we seen such a dominant performance. Johnson was out of the traps fast with his opening seven-under-par 65 and despite a slightly lacklustre showing on Friday he stormed it from there.
