The European Team put on a stellar performance on the final day of the PING Junior Solheim Cup to triumph for the first time on US soil. The best U18 girls from Europe overturned an 8-4 deficit to claim nine out of the 12 points on offer in the singles matches and win.

Stacey Lewis, a twice major winner and a veteran of four Solheim Cups was the surprise omission from Pat Hurst's picks for the team to represent the USA at the Inverness Club. Lewis had played a role in the Solheim Cup going to Toledo and was fancied by many to play despite not securing one of the automatic qualifying positions. Instead, Lewis will be an assistant captain of Team USA.

We were all on the edge of our seats when Suzann Pettersen holed that six foot putt to win the Solheim Cup.
