Sweden’s Caroline Hedwall added a two-under-par bogey-free round of 70 to yesterday’s effort of 65 to maintain a narrow one-shot lead at nine-under-par from England’s Meghan MacLaren heading into the final round at the OMEGA Dubai Moonlight Classic. Luckily tomorrow’s final round doesn’t begin until 5 pm (local time), giving her adequate time to turn in her papers before the deadline.

Swedish amateur Beatrice Wallin leads the Didriksons Skafto Open alongside Magdalena Simmermacher after both players shot an opening round of 67 in Bohuslän. The 22-year-old made the most of her familiar surroundings in Skafto, as she kept her composure amid gusty conditions to share the lead after 18 holes played.

Sweden’s Caroline Headwall made headlines at the OMEGA Dubai Moonlight Classic after a bogey-free round of 65 (-7), which included a hole-in-one, fired her into a two-shot first round lead from morning leader Laura Fuenfstueck and fellow Solheim Cup player, Celine Boutier. It was a brutal day at Gleneagles with high winds, rain and low temperatures testing the mettle of both teams. Team USA came out narrowly on top taking the afternoon fourballs by 2½ matches to 1½ after the morning foursomes had been shared. So, it is all tied at 8-8 ahead of the twelve singles today and the Americans, given their past record in singles, must be viewed as the favourites.
