Abraham Ancer became the first Mexican to win a European Tour title after defeating Sam Burns and Hideki Matsuyama in a play-off at the WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational. The 30-year-old carded a 68 to finish at sixteen-under after 72 holes at TPC Southwind, with Matsuyama and Burns storming through the field on day four with rounds of 63 and 64 respectively.

Louis Oosthuizen did not look as assured on day three of the Open Championship but still finished the day with a one shot lead. Finland’s Matilda Castren carded a two-under-par round of 69 to lead by one stroke after the second day of the Gant Ladies Open. The 26-year-old opened her round with a bogey on the first hole but made a birdie on the eighth to make the turn in 36. Castren then rolled in back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17 to post a round of 69 and leave her two-under-par for the tournament with one day left.
Finland’s Ursula Wikstrom fired a round of 66 to lead the Gant Ladies Open by two strokes on the first day at Aura Golf. Wikstrom, who is currently 12th in the 2021 Race to Costa del Sol, carded a round of five-under-par which included seven birdies and two bogeys to lead.
