Georgia Hall recovered from a poor start at Bearwood Lakes to take the event by a single shot from a group of six players that included Meg MacLaren, a winner of the second event in the series at Moor Park. Gemma Dryburgh won for a second consecutive week on the Rose Ladies Series at Royal St, George’s in Kent. The 27-year-old from Scotland shot an excellent one-under-par 69 to win by a shot from tour stars Georgia Hall and Charley Hull. The series now moves to the JCB Country Club in Staffordshire next week and will conclude with a three-course grand final in Surrey beginning on 5th August.
The R&A confirmed today that it intends to play the AIG Women’s British Open at Royal Troon from 20th to 23rd August without spectators due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be the first women’s Major Championship to be played this year and will be broadcast globally to more than 11 million fans.
