Birthday girl, Ally McDonald grabbed her first LPGA Tour victory at the LPGA Drive On Championship at Reynolds Lake Oconee. The 28-year-old shot a final round three-under 69 to finish on sixteen-under-par and win by a single shot from world number five Danielle Kang. Mina Harigae of America and Spain's Carlota Ciganda shared the fourth spot after rounds of 67 and 69 respectively.
Ross McGowan sealed an emotional victory at the Italian Open, his first win in 11 years, as the Englishman holed a 20-foot putt at the last to overcome his playing partner Laurie Canter after a thrilling final day battle at Chervò Golf Club.
Defending Cambia Portland Classic winner Hannah Green continued her strong play at Columbia Edgewater Country Club, shooting a 6-under 66 on Friday to join Cydney Clanton atop the leaderboard after the first round. Five players are tied for third on five-under, including 2020 Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions winner Gaby Lopez and England’s Mel Reid.
Sweden’s Julia Engstrom had a day to remember at the 2020 Lacoste Ladies Open De France, carding a hole-in-one en route to a second round 64 (-7) to top the leaderboard heading into tomorrow’s final round. Capitalising on the ace, Engstrom continued to go flag hunting at Golf Medoc’ Chateaux Course, immediately following up with a tap-in birdie at the 9th hole.
Despite dropping three shots in her last three holes, Gabriella Cowley held on to win the fifth Rose Ladies Series event at the JCB Golf and Country Club. She carded an excellent two-under-par round of 70 to win by one shot from a group on one-under that included Charley Hull and Georgia Hall. The Sanderson Farms Championship from the Country Club of Jackson delivered another first-time winner when Sebastian Munoz saw off 2019 Rookie of the Year, Sungjae Im, on the first hole of a playoff. It was the Columbian’s first tour victory and follows the win by Joaquin Niemann of Chile at last week’s win at the A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier.
