Record breaking crowds at Royal Birkdale
The R&A has announced that 235,000 spectators attended this year’s The Open at Royal Birkdale, making it officially the largest crowd for an Open staged outside of St Andrews.

The R&A has made it clear where it stands on the LIV Golf issue by not asking Greg Norman to any of the festivities at the 150th Open Championship next week, including the Champions' Dinner. A statement from the R&A read as follows:

Well, the R&A finally made a decision and somewhat surprisingly for some the decision was to cancel the 149th Open Championship because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Tournament will now take place at the same venue, Royal St George's Golf Club in Sandwich, in 2021.
