Finland’s Matilda Castren shot a final round of 68 to win the 2021 Gant Ladies Open by three strokes and claim her first LET title. The 26-year-old rounded off an excellent week, which saw her card rounds of 71, 69 and 68 to triumph with a score of five-under-par at Aura Golf.

Finland’s Matilda Castren carded a two-under-par round of 69 to lead by one stroke after the second day of the Gant Ladies Open. The 26-year-old opened her round with a bogey on the first hole but made a birdie on the eighth to make the turn in 36. Castren then rolled in back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17 to post a round of 69 and leave her two-under-par for the tournament with one day left.

It was a race to beat the dark on a marathon moving day. Jin Young Ko completed her second round on Saturday morning, then turned around for a 3:42 p.m. CT third-round grouping at Old American Golf Club in The Colony, Texas. Thirty-one holes later and the seven-time LPGA Tour winner is the Volunteers of America Classic 54-hole leader by one stroke at 14-under par overall.

Mother Nature stole the show Friday morning at Old American Golf Club in The Colony, Texas, dumping almost two inches of rain on the course and causing a six-hour weather delay. Once action commenced, it was a brilliant performance from recent Rolex First-Time winner Matilda Castren.

Matilda Castren became the first Finnish winner in LPGA Tour history at the LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship, beating Taiwan's Min Lee by two strokes. "It's a huge honour to be a winner as a rookie and especially the first one from Finland," Castren said. "That's a really big honour."
