Brandel Chamblee fires up Team Europe

Maybe it was deliberate, or perhaps he will regret his words, but Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee really laid into Ian Poulter. According to Chamblee, Poulter is “the worst ball-striker” at the Ryder Cup  “by a lot”.

Poulter’s love of the Ryder Cup is legendary and he is known as ‘The Postman’ for a good reason, for when the chips have been down, he has delivered. Knowing Poulter, he will revel in such comments and it will merely fire him up to play even better golf.
We will see what happens but Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele may wish that Mr Chamblee had kept his big mouth shut.
Chamblee did not limit his negative comments to Poulter also having a pop at Sergio Garcia. Per Chamblee, Garcia is the worst putter on show at Whistling Straits.
The opinionated comments from Chamblee did not go down well with fans this side of the pond. Twitter was awash with Team Europe fans venting their anger.
