Players Championship to finish behind closed doors

And Russell Knox wishes no one had been watching

The Players Championship will continue but spectators will not be allowed for the last three days. Poor old Russell Knox must wish that no one had been watching as he kicked off his tournament with a five putt at the first hole – ouch!

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan confirmed the decision after speaking to President Donald Trump. The tournament got underway at TPC Sawgrass on Thursday morning with spectators, although the crowds were small as many opted to stay away after being given the option by the PGA Tour of a refund.

Meanwhile, Russell Knox had the worst of all starts to his round when he five putted the first hole. Warning it makes excruciating viewing as Russel rolls it only 4 feet by with his first putt but then proceeds to need four more strokes to find the bottom of the hole.
