Tyrell Hatton wins Dunhill Links

By four shots

Tyrell Hatton shot a  six under par 66 to secure a four-shot victory and his first professional title at St Andrews.

Hatton shot a course record-equalling ten-under-par 62 on Saturday and kept that momentum going with a six-under to finish 23 under overall at the Dunhill Links Championship.

Hatton started the final round at St Andrews with a three-shot lead and made the turn in four under.

He then had birdies on the 12th, 14th and 15th holes.

Hatton’s second shot into the 17th ran into Hell bunker but he got away with a bogey – his first dropped shot since the 12th hole of the second round – before finishing with a par at the last.

Ross Fisher finished in a tie for second with South African Richard Sterne on 19 under.
