Richard Bland & Alex Noren lead

At the British Masters

Richard Bland is leading the British Masters with Sweden’s Alex Noren.

43-year-old Bland is world number 127, and shot seven birdies to post a 64 at The Grove, taking him to 11 under par. Today he’s one under going into seven, and now joint leader with Alex Noren on 12 under.

Tommy Fleetwood, who held a share of the overnight lead, is on eleven under in second place.

A group of five players are knocking on the door on ten under; Graeme McDowell, Peter Hanson, Anthony Wall, Bernd Wiesberger, Richard Sterne and Scott Jamieson.

Beef Johnson had been in the mix, and started the day just one shot behind the leader Bland. But he’s already dropped two shots, and is now back T11.

Bland has never won on the European Tour, but opened with a 67 on Thursday, followed by a superb 64 on Friday.  He opened his round today with two birdies, but then dropped his first shot of the tournament on the par three 4th. But he’s clearly loving this track.

British Master’s host Luke Donald missed the cut.
