Ram Raid on Golf Shop

Topgolf Surrey hit

"Callous" burglars used two vehicles to smash their way into a golf shop in Addlestone, Surrey, in a bold bid to steal a cash machine.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm on May 22 when the vehicles crashed through a shuttered entrance at Topgolf in Moated Farm Road.

A group of at least four people then got out the vehicles in the clubhouse and attempted to remove a cash machine located inside the building by loading it into one of the vehicles.

However, extensive damage was caused to the inside of the building forcing the business to close for a short time.

Police are appealing for information about a stolen Range Rover Evoque and a blue Peugeot car derived van, which were used in the ram raid and left behind at the scene, before the burglars fled in a silver coloured vehicle.

Dominic Taylor, UK national director of operations at Topgolf, commented: “While the incident came as a shock to members of staff at Topgolf Addlestone, we are pleased to say that no one was injured at the scene. In fact, in true Topgolf spirit, our staff worked hard together to get the venue back in working order by 6pm the next day.”
