Massive sinkhole closes golf course

This is the last thing you need

It's one thing to say "I wish the earth would open up and swallow me" when you've just missed a three foot putt for a triple, but you probably wouldn't actually want it to happen. But on the 13th hole of Canyon Farms Golf Course in Lenexa, Kansas, that's exactly what happened.

Parts of the course are constructed over an old limestone mine and the hole opened up on a part with inferior subsurface conditions, according to experts. Heavy rain is thought to have increased the stress on the mine roof, not to mention the stress caused to the hapless greenkeeper.

Or is this really the Caddyshack gopher's revenge?...........
