Koepka's caddie splashes the cash

On lots of beer!

It was a good weekend for Northern Ireland’s Ricky Elliott, Brooks Koepka’s bagman at the 117th US Open. But what of his plans for his winnings??

Ricky Elliott’s winning weekend at Erin Hills will see him land $216,000 for his efforts, based on the traditional 10% of the winner’s purse.

When asked what he intended to do with his new found fortune, Elliott replied: "Buy a 12–pack of Heineken.”

We always applaud any investment in beer, but if he carried this through he would be buying over 250,000 cans of his favoured lager, so we would recommend a more diversified approach for his new wealth.

$216,000 would buy you a nice house in Northern Ireland for starter.

Elliott first caddied for Koepka in 2013 and also carried the American's bag during the 2016 Ryder Cup, whilst other UK caddies on American bags chose to stay away for the week.
