How to win £11K from a £4 golf bet

The Wattel & Leishman double

We’re going to have to have a word with the Golf Spiv, as he didn’t call this one. But it is not every day that you can turn a £4 bet into £11,488.

How about this for a great £2 each way double? Romain Wattel to win the KLM Open, and Marc Leishman to win the BMW Championship.

Wattel had never before won on the European Tour, so his one shot victory, booked in at 150/1 really got the ball rolling.

It must have been a long wait for the BMW to end, and the lucky punter to cash in his chips.

But Marc Leishman was not to let him down, and claimed a wire-to-wire victory at the BMW.

The Australian had to see off a late charge from Justin Rose, who twice cut the lead to just two shots. But he eventually finished five year of Rose and Fowler on 23 under to claim his third PGA tour victory. He was backed at a more modest 35/1, but bingo that’s how to turn £4 into £11K.
