Paratore wins Betfred British Masters

Italian Renato Paratore produced a dominate display of front running to claim his second European Tour title with a three shot victory in the Betfred British Masters hosted by Lee Westwood at Close House. The 23-year-old converted his one stroke overnight advantage with a two-under par final round of 69 to finish on 18 under par, with Denmark’s 19-year-old Rasmus Højgaard runner up on 15 under.

European Tour to resume

It's the news we have all been waiting for this side of the pond. European Tour golf is to return with the first tournament in a six week 'UK Swing' kicking off with the Betfred British Masters hosted by Lee Westwood, which will take place between 22nd and 25th July – a week earlier than originally scheduled. Dates have also been announced for four Rolex Series events including the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open.

European Tour cancels events

The European Tour today confirmed the cancellation of the BMW International Open and the Open de France and the postponement of the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open, a Rolex Series event, due to the continuing threat posed by the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). At the same time, the PGA Tour announced its plans to resume the 2019-20 season with the Charles Schwab Challenge between 11th and 14th June.

R&A Need to make a decision
