Jason Day's What's In The Bag
TaylorMade all the way through the bag
Words: Daniel Owen
Jason Day won at the Players Championship using a full bag of TaylorMade equipment. The world No1 bossed the field to win by four shots. Let's have a look at the tools that facilitate the greatness.
His M1 driver is shafted with a Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage TiNi 70X tipped 1" that has been in the bag since the BMW Championship last year. It's designed to be Mid launch, with a mid to low spin, plus feel very stable through impact.
His putter is a new one. Despite having all the success with his old Ghost Spider putter, Day made the switch to the TaylorMade Spider Limited Red. Designed especially for Jason, he went to the TM engineers and asked for a putter that featured red in the design as it was his favourite colour.
The designers chose the same shade of red as the Australian Redback Spider! (I had one of them jump on me once! – Ed) Essentially though, it's the same putter he has been using with a red paint job, and it hasn't been surprising to see him switch so easily into the new version. Just 2000 of these are going to be produced for retail, differing from Day's putter in that they are face balanced and feature a sight line.
