Paige Spiranac: We treat each other like crap...

Instagram star lashes out against sexual harassment

Following the shady revelations about Harvey Weinstein and the Hollywood casting couch scandal, our own Paige Spiranac has spoken out about the role of women can play in the mistreatment of other women...

Paige has been highlighting the mistreatment of women online for a while now, and acts as a spokeswoman for  Cybersmile, the anti-bullying charity.

"Women have to realize they're part of this, too," Spiranac told Golf Digest. "I've had women say, 'She deserves to be treated like that because of what she's wearing' or 'She belongs in a back alley, not on a golf course.'"

Paige has had her fair share of criticism for, shall we say, making the most of her assets. By which I mean a nice golf swing, good looks and penchant for breaking the internet with Instagram posts and tweets.

Whether you like her or not, she has an audience (165k twitter followers & a whopping 1.2million Instagram) and she's determined to put her case across.

"At that point (when you've been criticised for having a big profile and marketing yourself) you're blaming me for how I look," Paige said. "I could be walking around naked, but it doesn't mean I deserve to be sexually assaulted.

"As women we need to look at ourselves more and make sure we're not saying just men do this," she continued. "A lot of it is because we treat each other like crap."

Here are Paige's tweets on the subject:
