The Irishman took a three week break after finishing in the top 30 at the D+D Real Czech Masters but showed no signs of rust as a bogey-free 65 moved him to seven under at Bernardus Golf.
Anna Nordqvist claimed her third Major title after a thrilling success at the AIG Women’s Open at Carnoustie. The Swede closed with an excellent three-under-par 69 for a 12-under-par total and a one-shot victory over a trio of players over the famous links.
As the sun shone brightly once again at Royal St George's, Collin Morikawa held his nerve, carding a final-round four-under 66 to take the Open title at his first effort. The American held off former champions Jordan Speith and Louis Oosthuizen to win by two strokes.
Finland’s Matilda Castren shot a final round of 68 to win the 2021 Gant Ladies Open by three strokes and claim her first LET title. The 26-year-old rounded off an excellent week, which saw her card rounds of 71, 69 and 68 to triumph with a score of five-under-par at Aura Golf.
Spain’s Nuria Iturrioz carded a bogey-free round of 68 to give her the solo lead on day two of the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open. Play got underway as planned at 7.45am at Beroun Golf Club with a few groups completing their first round before heading out to their second. Iturrioz was one of the lucky players who managed to finish her first round before play got suspended due to darkness.
It certainly was moving day at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give, for Nelly Korda. The American shot a third-round ten-under 62 to catapult herself into a three shot lead over Ireland’s Leona Maguire.
Garrick Higgo was the beneficiary of a sad collapse by Chesson Hadley to win the Palmetto Championship at Congaree by one stroke and claim his maiden PGA Tour title at just his second outing. The 22-year-old Higgo finished at eleven-under 273 at Congaree Golf Club, Ridgeland, South Carolina, to win by a single shot from a group of six players on ten-under.
Germany’s Olivia Cowan shot a 69 to share the lead with defending champion Annabel Dimmock on day two of the Jabra Ladies Open at Evian Resort Golf Club. Cowan, who has 18 top-ten finishes on the LET, made consecutive birdies on her final two holes to claim the clubhouse lead of five-under-par.
England's Mel Reid slipped down to tied sixth at the US Women's Open after a second round two-over-par 73 at The Olympic Club. She sits on two-under for the tournament four shots behind the leader, Yuka Saso of the Philippines. 19-year-old Saso fired six birdies in a four-under-par 67 on Friday to grab a one-shot lead over former champion Jeon-Geun Lee6.
Hannah Green of Australia bogeyed the last two holes of the HSBC Women's World Championship at Singapore's Sentosa Golf Club on Sunday to hand victory to Hyo Joo Kim of South Korea. Kim stormed through the field with a best of the day eight-under-par 64 to take the title by one shot from Green.
The low scoring on the LPGA continued at the LA Open where Jessica Korda followed up her opening round seven-under 64 with a flawless second round 65. The 28-year-old, who won the season’s first event at the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions, looks good for a wire-to-wire win at Wilshire Country Club this week.
Lydia Ko has waited a long time to add to her haul of LPGA titles but she emphatically ended the drought at the Lotte Championship in Hawaii on Saturday. Going bogey-free for the third day running, Ko shot a final-round 65 to win by seven strokes.
