As the various tours are losing millions each week in TV and sponsorship income and the Coronavirus trundles on the R&A continues to put out woolly statements about continuing to look at the options. Given the likely time frames for the lifting of social distancing and the issues over international travel, the R&A must postpone.

The 22-year-old Swede fired a flawless 66, which included a tremendous eagle from 75 feet on the 11th and four birdies, to get to sixteen-under-par and overtake halfway leader Jason Scrivener at the top.
The European Tour has announced the postponement of the Magical Kenya Open Presented by Absa which was due to take place between 12th and 15th of March. This followed the decision by the Government of Kenya to postpone all meetings and conferences in the country of an international nature.

Callum Shinkwin defeated Kalle Samooja in a play-off to win his first European Tour title after a dramatic final day at the 2020 Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Open. The Englishman was two shots behind the Finn as he stood on the17th tee in regulation and while a birdie there edged him closer, his chances of victory looked slim when he found rough off the tee at the par five last.
The European Tour’s innovative GolfSixes event will enter a new era in 2019 when it moves to continental Europe for the first time, with the Municipality of Cascais and the spectacular Oitavos Dunes in Portugal set to host GolfSixes Cascais from June 7-8.
Justin Walters remained on course for a maiden European Tour title at the ISPS HANDA UK Championship but two-time Major winner Martin Kaymer put himself firmly in contention on day three at The Belfry. Amy Boulden produced a sensational round of a lifetime, firing a stunning bogey-free 64 (-8) to finish the week at 17-under-par and claim a three-shot victory from Australia’s Stephanie Kyriacou at the 2020 VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open. LET rookie Steph Kyriacou was making a charge of her own, turning in 31 (-4), while Morroco’s Haddioui was alongside her after an opening nine of 33 (-2).
Scottish golfing legend Sam Torrance OBE has joined the Farmfoods European Senior Masters field, and will be competing at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club in the inaugural tournament between 19-22 October 2017.
