Stacey Lewis, a twice major winner and a veteran of four Solheim Cups was the surprise omission from Pat Hurst's picks for the team to represent the USA at the Inverness Club. Lewis had played a role in the Solheim Cup going to Toledo and was fancied by many to play despite not securing one of the automatic qualifying positions. Instead, Lewis will be an assistant captain of Team USA.
