Three-time LET winner Nuria Iturrioz continued her fine form at the Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open De Espana, posting a two-under-par second round of 70 to lead by two shots at eight-under-par from Scotland’s Kelsey Macdonald as darkness stopped play at 6.00 pm.
Spain’s Carlota Ciganda fired a second round six-under-par 66 to hold the halfway lead at the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España. The four-time LET winner has an excellent record in her national championship – recording seven top ten finishes in the seven she has played – and she continued that on day two at Los Naranjos Golf Club.
Rafa Cabrera Bello was back to his brilliant best as he carded a bogey-free 64 to take a two shot lead into the weekend at the 2021 ACCIONA Open de España presented by Madrid. Wil Besseling made it 36 bogey-free holes to lead the way into the weekend at the 2021 Acciona Open de España presented by Madrid but World Number One Jon Rahm was just one shot back in the Spanish capital. The Dutchman followed an opening 64 with a 65 at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid to get to 13 under and he will face the biggest day of his career in the final group on day three.
Big bombing Thomas Pieters became only the third Belgian to win on the European Tour, taking the D+D REAL Czech Masters. Despite a double bogey on the front nine Pieters romped to a three shot victory over Pelle Edberg at the Albatross Golf Resort in Prague.
