It was fitting that on Anzac Day it should be an Australian pairing that won the Zurich Classic on Sunday. Cameron Smith and Marc Leishman carded a final-round two-under final round to tie with South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel on twenty-under-par. The Aussies then grabbed the spoils at the first extra hole.

Kevin Na is out after his loss against Adam Long on Thursday, but the group is wide open following Dustin Johnson and Robert MacIntyre's halved match. In unprecedented times, we have one more men’s golf major to look forward to this year. The Masters at Augusta is scheduled in November for the first time, after the cancellation earlier in the year. It has thrown the plans of golfers into the air, but we have seen events running every week for some time now, so there can be no claims of rustiness or a lack of practice.

After picking up the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth on Sunday, he jumped on a plane and travelled some five thousand miles but there was no sign of fatigue. “Yeah, I mean, It’s fair to say I’m pretty tired at the moment,” Hatton said after his round.
