Justin Thomas got off to a fast start in defence of his US PGA Tour Tournament of Champions title. The world number three shares the lead with Harris English on eight-under-par after a flawless opening round that included eight birdies.
Justin Thomas staged a record-equalling comeback before beating fellow American Will Zalatoris in a playoff to win the US PGA Championship at Southern Hills. Thomas started the final round seven shots behind the overnight leader Mito Pereira and took the clubhouse lead on five-under-par after an excellent round of 67.
Scottie Scheffler confirmed his status as world number one by claiming his first major title in the 86th Masters at Augusta National. The American had the luxury of being able to four-putt the last hole and still win by three shots from a late-charging Rory McIlroy. Scheffler closed with a 71 to finish at ten-under-par ahead of the charging McIlroy who lit up the course with a final round 64.
Australia’s Minjee Lee captured her first LET title at the OMEGA Dubai Moonlight Classic with a clutch birdie putt from twenty feet at the first extra hole to beat France’s Celine Boutier in a thrilling shoot-out under the Middle Eastern moonlight.
