Michael Thompson wins 3M Open

Michael Thompson birdied two of the last three holes to hold off a late charge from Adam Long to record a two-stroke win at the 3M Open in Minnesota. Thompson had shared the overnight lead with  Richy Werenski with Charl Schwartzel and Tony Finau two shots back but it was Long who set the target after a final round seven-under-par 64.

Paratore wins Betfred British Masters

Italian Renato Paratore produced a dominate display of front running to claim his second European Tour title with a three shot victory in the Betfred British Masters hosted by Lee Westwood at Close House. The 23-year-old converted his one stroke overnight advantage with a two-under par final round of 69 to finish on 18 under par, with Denmark’s 19-year-old Rasmus Højgaard runner up on 15 under.

Georgia Hall finally wins on Rose Ladies Series

Georgia Hall recovered from a poor start at Bearwood Lakes to take the event by a single shot from a group of six players that included Meg MacLaren, a winner of the second event in the series at Moor Park.  The 2018 Women’s British Open champion carded a round of one-under-par 71 to move into second place on the American Golf Order of Merit, just behind Charley Hull. 2. Rahm grabs world number one spot

Jon Rahm was overcome with emotion as he took victory at the Memorial Tournament to grab the World number one spot from Rory McIlroy and emulate his hero Seve Ballesteros as only the second Spaniard to top the rankings. The big man's margin of victory would have been even higher but for a two-shot penalty for inadvertently moving his ball at address on the 16th hole.

Gabriella Cowley edges fifth Rose Series event

Despite dropping three shots in her last three holes, Gabriella Cowley held on to win the fifth Rose Ladies Series event at the JCB Golf and Country Club. She carded an excellent two-under-par round of 70 to win by one shot from a group on one-under that included Charley Hull and Georgia Hall.  Cowley, who has performed well throughout the Series, was delighted with her win. 5.
