Tiger Woods set to plead guilty

There's a real sense of 'let's just get this over with so I can get on with the rest of my life' about reports claiming that Tiger is about to plead guilty to the DUI charges hanging over him.

Tiger is set to appear in Florida court today and the 14-time major champion will fall on his sword, plead guilty to reckless-driving charges and enter a pre-trial diversion program, according to the Miami Herald.

Tiger was found asleep at the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz on May 29 in Jupiter, near his home, and arrested after failing multiple sobriety tests.

Tests showed he had no alcohol in his system, but he told the police he was taking Vicodin and Xanax following back surgery in April. A toxicology report found Vicodin, Dilaudid, Xanex, Ambien and THC in his system.

As part of a deal with prosecutors, Tiger’s DUI charge will be dropped after he successfully completes a diversion program. He will, however, be on probation for one year and required to pay a $250 fine and perform 50 hours of community service. Just what that community service will entail is unsure but there will be some pretty excited dudes on the litter-pick if they're in Tiger's group.

Court papers indicated Woods must be present for the plea conference, which is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the North County Government Center in Palm Beach County Court, Treasure Coast reported.
