Pieters and Fisher lead as McIlroy surges at Abu Dhabi

It's all going off at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship as a stellar field made the most of perfect conditions at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
Thomas Pieters leads after -5 round of 67 to add to his opening rounds of 67 and 65. He is -17 for the tournament and hasn't dropped a shot in 42 holes. Ross Fisher joined Pieters at the top of the leaderboard with a final hole birdie.

Rory's comeback looks to be live and dangerous for world golf as he followed rounds of 69 and 66 with a stellar -7 third round of 65. He is just one shot off the lead and will be in the final group tomorrow, alongside Pieters and Ross Fisher.

But all eyes were on Matt Fitzpatrick who got to a staggering -9 after 13 holes. #59Watch started trending and GolfPunk Towers started to tremble...
A bogey on 15 put paid to all that but Fitz still finished with a superb 63 and is now right behind the leaders at -15.
Beef continued his resurgence with a third round 66 and he is just three shots back at -14.
Elsewhere, defending champion Tommy Fleetwood continued his solid defence of the title with a last round 67 (-5) and he is tucked nicely in at -15. World Number 1 Dustin Johnson shot a 68 and ends day three at -12, in 13th place.
