Chris Wood three putts last as Wu Ashan takes KLM Open

Very ouch...

Ouch. Pushing for a playoff, Chris Wood three-putted the final green to finish second by a shot, leaving China's Wu Ashan to take his third European Tour title.

Wu made birdie at the 72nd hole for a -4 final round of 67 and a total score of -16.

An emotional Wood was clearly gutted at his third runner-up finish of the season.

Belgium's Thomas Detry and Japan's Hideto Tanihara finished tied for third in the Netherlands.

"Fantastic, an unbelievable week," world number 344 Wu told Sky Sports. "There was a lot of good golf played here, I like this golf course."

Wood held a one-shot lead heading into the final round, but the 30-year-old paid the price for a double-bogey six at the 12th hole to miss out on a fourth European Tour title.

GolfPunk All Back To Mine star Padraig Harrington continued his great recent form by finishing 5th here, following his second-placed finish at the Czech Masters at the end of August.
