Tiger Woods: False dawn or the start of a comeback?

Feast your eyes on this...

Last night Tiger Woods shot his best round in 749 days. His seven birdie 64 at the Wyndham Championship was his lowest round since the 2013 WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

After chipping in on the tenth, his first, the crowd went bananas,

“That was a loud roar,” said Koepka, his playing partner. “I haven’t heard one that loud in a long time.”

“People went nuts,” Tiger added. “Pretty much like that for the rest of the day.”

Considering he had only played nine holes of the course, before his first round this was better than he could have hoped for.

It's the first time Tiger has been near the top of a leaderboard this season. It's his lowest opening round in three years. For everyone's sake we hope this becomes the norm. Tiger Woods still brings the X factor to golf, he puts bums in seats, he gets the buzz up. And how good are this apparent new big three of Jordan, Rory, and Jason if they've never had to stare down a roaring Tiger to win a golf tournament?
