The R&A has announced four new courses for Open Qualifying

So who is in and who is out?

Princes GC, Kent - we know it inside out from MacMillian's Longest Day.....

The R&A has announced four new venues for final qualifying for the Open Championship from 2018.

The four new courses are Princes Golf Club in Kent, St Anne’s Old Links in Lytham, Renaissance Club in North Berwick and Notts Golf Club in, err, Nottinghamshire.

Notts GC...moody....

Out of the qualifying roster are Royal Cinque Ports in Kent, Gailes Links in Glasgow, Woburn in Bedfordshire, and Southport’s Hillside.

There will be 12 places available for this year's Open at Troon from a starting field of 288 players, which will be played on those courses.

The Open will be staged at Royal Birkdale in 2017, Carnoustie in 2018 and Royal Portrush in 2019.

R&A chief executive Martin Slumbers has also revealed that the 2020 Open will be staged in England and that St Andrews will play host to the 150th championship in 2021. So Turnberry is off the roster until at least 2022.
