Stolen airliner crashes near Chambers bay

Joy ride ends in tragedy

It has emerged that the commercial airline stolen from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Friday night crashed just outside of Chambers Bay golf course - the venue of the 2015 US Open.

An employee for Horizon Air got access to one of the airline's Q400 turboprops models, and was able to get the plane airborne, despite not having a pilot’s license.

With military planes soon in hot pursuit, the 29-year-old man eventually crashed after 90 minutes right outside Chambers Bay GC, as the ‘pilot’ attempted to land.
