Status Quo to headline at BMW Championship

As golf goes dinosaur again

Status Quo will be headlining on Saturday May 27 at the 2017 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club as golf goes all dinosaur again.

They will play a 90–minute performance on Saturday night, with the Kaiser Chiefs wrapping up proceedings on Sunday evening.

Led by Francis Rossi after the recent death of Rick Parfitt, this is the first time the Quo have played at a golf tournament. “We’re really excited get on stage at the BMW PGA Championship and see where we can take the show for our fans,” said Rossi. “We love the idea of combining a world–class sporting experience with a live gig to cap off a great day out!”

I'm not here to rain on anyone's parade, but let's face it we are firmly back in dad, or rather grandad, rock territory. One step forwards with the Kaiser Chiefs, and one step back with the Quo in my humble. But then golf has always appeared to prefer the status quo, so it's really quite an appropriate choice.

Rumours of a support set by Skepta & Lady Sovereign are still to be confirmed...

A special Twilight Ticket offer is available to fans for £37 including fees, which allows general admission to the venue from 4pm Saturday evening to enjoy some golf and live music.

Early bird general admission tickets, onsite parking and grandstand seating for the 2017 BMW PGA Championship are also available for purchase online, as well as hospitality packages overlooking the famous 18th green.
