Spieth criticised

Post Round remarks at Presidents Cup

An analyst for the Golf Channel has called Jordan Spieth’s post-round comments at the President’s Cup “slightly classless.”

In comments to the Golf Channel after the surprise 4-and-3 loss to Louis Oosthuizen and Brandon Grace, Spieth commented “That was Merry Christmas to them.”

Analyst Arron Oberholser called Spieth’s comments “slightly classless.”

The Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth pairing had been looking pretty indestructible, so we can understand his frustration. Let’s not get carried away, it was a minor slip, which simply betrayed his frustration at not winning a match that he thought they should have bagged.

OK, so he probably should have given more credit to the Grace and Oosthuizen pairing, which carded six birdies in a four-ball match to beat him and Johnson.

But we love his openness, passion and will to win. And check out the video of him holing out from the greenside bunker for birdie from 63 feet on the par-4 12th hole. That's more like it!
