Proven Tour winner Tom Lewis joins #TEAMCALLAWAY
Callaway has further strengthened its team of Staff Professionals representing the brand on the PGA European Tour with the signing of Tom Lewis.
Englishman Lewis (28), already a two-time winner on the European Tour, hit the headlines in 2011 by posting the lowest amateur score in Open history (a first round 65) at Royal St George’s Golf Club, which helped him win that year’s Silver Medal.
After turning pro later that year, it then took Tom only three starts on the European Tour to win his maiden professional tournament, the Portugal Masters, which he won again in 2018.
Already amassing career earnings in excess of €3million, the 2019 season has started well for Tom, who is using a full bag of Callaway and Odyssey clubs.
He claimed third spot at the inaugural Saudi International, and secured a top 10 place at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
Peter Harrison, Callaway’s EMEA Director of Tour Relations, said: “Tom is a fantastic addition to #TeamCallaway. He is a proven winner on the biggest competitive stage in European golf and has already been close to securing professional win number three this season. He is certainly one to watch.”
Tom added: “I feel very comfortable using the new Callaway and Odyssey clubs and I’m confident they can help me to achieve my goals in 2019 and beyond. I’m looking forward to being a part of the Callaway family.”
